For those who don't know this is Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist. I've been meaning to do a fanart of this character for some time now. He's such an attractive character ^___^. It was so much fun to get back to my roots and do some good old fashioned anime fanart. This picture must be some kind of record for me I've finished it within the space of five days, Normally I'll be really fussy over the lineart and pick flaws forever.

This picture is also remarkable for me because it represents the most successs I've ever had using nibs and ink. I've actually managed to produce acceptable linework with nibs! horray! Now I feel like I have some grasp of how the pros manage to make them work. I used a sort of sketching technique, going over the lines in several strokes trying to be as neat as possible.
