This took ages, it was for the communication arts call for entires in Illustration this year. It's based on an idea a friend of mine had. She wrote a childrens book about a little girl who finds an egg and wonders what kind of animal is inside. It turns out to be a bird egg. This is a page from the book as I see it.

I don't know how I feel about this thing, I probably wont for a while. Here it is anyway

mixed media: colured pencil, gouache, watercolour, and a fair bit of photoshop.

The states of awareness we currently perceive are only a thiny fraction of the whole.
The continuum extends deep into nonphysical areas of the universe far beyond our current physical comprehension

Ha, awesome.
Real nice feel to it.

A challenge. I see a chance to add real colours to my favourite palette.
Raise my mighty mallet towards the gods and swing my talons.
This is lovely, I went "Oh wow!" when I saw the thumbnail! To my eyes there are a few stylistic contrasts (the scales of the dragon look rather like lineart, so soft shading of the little girl seems a little out of place), but the composition is well thought out and the details really caught my eye.

Man who bounce wife on bed spring this spring have offspring next spring.
That is amazing, and I can see this being the cover of a book. The color is so vibrant and the style of the whole piece just says "fantastical whimsy." You definitely have a talent for color!

A well-made sword never rattles.
this is cool :D I recognized it as some sort of childrens book picture before I saw that it in fact was... In school, I had a similar [or maybe even same..?] project where we take a childrens story page and make a picture from a quote of the text of our choice, in our own style. I chose Alice in Wonderland [but my pic didn't turn out that well, we had hardly any time to work on it!] but I really like this and how it was coloured
