Finally finished this @_____@
sheesh I've spent half this semester on it. Thats the problem with Photoshop, you never actually have to finish a picture and you end up spending ages on it agonizing over the details. I'm happy with this ^__^ I wanted to make a picture that sort of told a story and let the viewer make up their own impression of it. I wanted to make it look as though it didn't really belong to any established style of thing if you get my meaning. It's for my digial image design unit, which unlike illustration lets us get all the semester's work finished in the end and the focus is on experimentation.
This is a mixed media piece. It started as a pencil drawing which some of you saw earlier, and then there was a great deal of photoshopery painting as well as some watercolour and dye stuff thrown in for good measure.
kudos to a friend of mine who modeled as the reference for me ^___^ she is perfect for it ne? such a round scalp!

it it just me or is there like a blue smear that runs along side her left side? Or is it just some monitor thing?!

I really love the pencil texture vs the digital-painted cloud background!
it might be me but i found it amusing, caus she (looks like?) is a robot, and artificial yet she is hand drawn, where the clouds are natural yet computer made.
I'd have to say my favorite part of the whole piece is the purple line down the face and the one that makes up the eyelashes and how it connects to the eyerbrow, it looks very cool and liquidy almost.
