I've seen similar stuff in this genre, but yours stuck out to me for a few reasons.
1) I really like the lines forming the eyelid-brow and down the symetery of the face. Great idea!
2) The eyes are there and look good, but they also look kinda of empty (stare) and simple, which is PERFECT (IMO) for this style.
3) The plating over the body looks incredibly textured (I can almost feel the texture), but it isn't overly complicated! Right on!
Great work! I can't wait to see the CG version!

I like how the subject still retains a very human-esque visual quality to it...while the robot, is obviously still a robot.
Very very nice indeed!
Due to my own personal taste, I feel that the shading could have been a bit more dynamic in light/dark contrast....I feel that it would have fleshed out the image a bit more....
But like I said, that's just personal taste...you did a great job either way.
